ADULTS & COMMUNITY PROGRAMS AND SUPPORT

Conversational English:
  Every Wednesday September to May, people whose first language is not English are invited to discuss current events and enhance their English vocabulary.

Community Kitchen and Hot Lunch Program:
This program takes place every Thursday from September to May at noon at First United Church in White Rock with the support of volunteers from the White Rock Elks Club.  It is provided for people living on low incomes but a small contribution is requested, as participants are able.

Drop in Lounge:
Volunteers run a drop in for coffee, snacks and conversation every Wednesday morning 'til May 30th.

Clothing Exchange:
Located at Camp Alexandra, the clothing exchange is available at no charge for people dropping off (donating) clothing and people wishing to obtain clothing.   The key is available at the front desk at Camp A.

COMMUNITY AND SPECIAL EVENTS

Special events build community capacity and provide opportunities for families and individuals to gather and build a greater spirit of community. Examples are: Thanksgiving Dinner, Family Halloween, Family Christmas, Chestnut Roast, St. Paddy’s Day Fundraiser, Multicultural Dinners and the Alexandra Festival.

Community Relations and Networks:
CBCS participates and/or plays an active leadership role in numerous community networks and coalitions.
