DONATIONS & FUNDING

Your Support is Key to Our Success

Crescent Beach Community Services, through its membership in the Association of Neighbourhood Houses, is a registered charity. See About Us.
In addition to being a member agency of the United Way of the Lower Mainland, CBCS receives funding in the form of grants from the United Way’s Success by Six initiative. These funds come primarily through the United Way’s annual campaign that relies on the generosity and care of thousands of people throughout the Lower Mainland.
Our other major and regular funders include:
Province of B.C.  Ministry of Children and Family Development and Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch
Government of Canada, Human Resources and Skills Development Canada.
Other smaller sources of external funding currently come from

  • Private foundations
  • Fraser Health Authority
  • Donors (service clubs, community groups, businesses and individuals)
  • Business sponsors

** Vital support from these funders, sponsors and donors enables CBCS to provide services and programs that nurture individual, family and community life.
CBCS has an annual budget of approximately 1.4 million dollars.

LIVING LEGACIES
A Living Legacy is a physical installation that visibly honors and acknowledges the contributions of a person or group to CBCS at Camp Alexandra. In such cases, a request is made by an individual or group and, if approved by the CBCS Board of Management, the requestor makes an agreed contribution to support the costs of the installation and its care.  Examples of Living Legacies currently in place include benches in honor of specific individuals who make or have made contributions to the life of CBCS at Camp Alexandra.  Information about Living Legacies can be obtained from the CBCS Executive Director.

Bequests are gratefully received in the spirit in which they were intended.  Anyone interested in designating Crescent Beach Community Services at Camp Alexandra in their will should contact their legal representative. Upon request, CBCS is honored to offer suggestions and guidance to individuals wishing to identify specific bequests in their wills.  Contact the CBCS Executive Director for more information.
